Project Description

This corpus consists of oral interviews carried out in the context of the LETRA test of Spanish for immigrant workers. It is made up of semi-guided interviews carried out in Spanish which last approximately 10 minutes each. The participants are immigrants from 11 different countries who live in the Autonomous Community of Madrid (Spain). The main objective of the project INMIGRA-2-CM funded by the Autonomous Community of Madrid and from the European Community is to facilitate the integration of the immigrant population in the Spanish society. The LAELE (Lingüística Aplicada a la Enseñanza de Lenguas Extranjeras/Applied Linguistics to the Teaching of Foreign Languages) research group of the Universidad Nebrija, who is responsible for the transcription and analysis of these data, aims at establishing diagnostics of competence in the Spanish language and finding specific ways of improving the communication skills of the immigrant population.
